About Bart Beuving


Bart was admitted to the bar in 2002 as a lawyer with Bird & Bird. Bart worked in the Telecommunications, IT and Media Department of Bird & Bird’s Dutch office until 2005. Subsequently, he works in the IP Department.

Bart is specialized in intellectual property law, IT and e-business and has extensive experience in legal proceedings, drafting agreements and settling of disputes. Areas for special attention are internet services, open source software, license agreements, procurement, copyright, trademarks, unfair competition and database protection.

Bart gained experience as an in-house counsel through secondments with a mobile telecom operator, an oil company and an IT consulting and outsourcing company. During these secondments, Bart supervised tender procedures and negotiated various commercial contracts including interconnection contracts, major procurement contracts regarding satellite services, virtual networks and (open source) software and various services agreements.

Bart is familiar with the legal issues in the IP and IT sector as well as the operational and economic background and is an author of various articles regarding IP, IT and e-commerce.
